I have been practicing massage therapy since I hung up my little shingle in 2008. I had returned home to NH after 10 years on the west coast with a bachelor’s degree in pre-med and absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I knew I was more passionate about wellness than studying sickness and I knew I wanted to learn more about preventative health than treating illness. ⁣⁣

A lover of anatomy and physiology and a kinesthetic learner, massage therapy was a natural transition for me. 𝘈𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵, the moment I graduated from massage therapy school and was settling into the Seacoast area looking for a job in the field, my mom had a severe heart attack and had a major stroke during bypass surgery. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
My whole world was turned 𝘶𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 and for a time I was her caretaker and slowly helped bring her back to “life” while being thrown into having to make a living in northern NH. ⁣𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘛𝘳𝘶𝘵𝘩 𝘔𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘳𝘯. I built my own website, hustled my buns off, charged $50 a massage (and first session was half price) I did free chair massage everywhere! It was difficult and wonderful and rewarding ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
And when my husband and I got married in 2012 we settled down here in the Seacoast area, and Inner Truth Massage came with us (some of my clients too as kismet would have it). Inner Truth has grown and grown, and we are lucky enough to help more and more people every day. I now have several employees and the most beautiful work space anyone could wish for. ⁣⁣

I never saw myself as becoming anyone’s boss and a leadership role has never been my comfort zone but this sure has been a wonderful journey of growth and humility and I look forward to going to “work” every day. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Some have said I am blessed or charmed to have grown this business to where it is at today, and to have the employees and work environment that I do (𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘐 𝘵𝘰𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘮! %) ⁣⁣

⁣But the truth is that it’s also taken more dedication, hard work, resilience, sweat and tears than I’m willing to admit. It hasn’t always been amazing and I haven’t always been surrounded by people that love and respect me as much as I do them. 𝘐𝘵’𝘴 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘢 𝘭𝘰𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 𝘰𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
In addition, each person that gets on my treatment table is a gift that I do not take for granted. To be able to help a person feel better in their body and become pain-free is the best feeling. To be able to provide my wonderful staff an opportunity to use their talents and knowledge to make a great living is the best feeling. And to do this while enjoying this wonderful life with my husband and toddler... I wouldn't change a thing. I can't wait to go to the office each day.

Business owner here It just occurred to me that it was just about 13 years ago that Inner Truth Massage came into existence! Wow, how life sometimes twists and turns around one's expectations. I had no intentions of opening my own practice while in massage school. I actually had it on my vision board that I would get a job working at the Cliff House @cliffhousemaine upon graduating from Spa Tech Institute @spatechinstitutewestbrook and that after years of hard labor would enjoy living the easy breezy, leave your work at work, kicking back on the coast of Maine, "the way life should be" kinda life. After getting my bachelor's degree in health sciences from PSU @portlandstate university in Oregon I needed to get 'out of my head and into my body' as my anatomy teacher reminded us on a daily basis. Following the flow and going with the crazy changes life then brought my way, moving back home, falling in love, reconnecting with old friends and family members. Sometimes big traumatic things happen though, and you find yourself having to get creative doing what it takes to make a living and busting butt to make another dream come true. This truth happened to unfold before my eyes with opening the doors of @innertruthmassage in 2008. I rented an office space in Littleton NH with my dear friend Natanya as she simultaneously launched her midwifery practice 'As It Was' What a beautiful space to blossom and thrive. We welcomed in many energy workers and herbal practitioners to the collective space that expanded and contracted and was a launching pad for so much wonderful healing. That space lives on as Littleton Healing Arts Studio. So many amazing people have been a part of the collective creation of this practice, and no matter the location we occupy, that beautiful energy is there. And the people that are a part of it today are heartbreakingly amazing and I couldn't be more proud of what we have become. I may not have dreamed of being a small business owner with employees and all the responsibility that comes along with that, but it has been the most rewarding and enriching journey. This home feels like forever home. Cheers to a lucky 13 Inner Truth Massage!
